Admissions
Applicants for the MSLP Program must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution OR be currently enrolled in a undergraduate program with the degree awarded prior to starting the MSLP program.
- Complete the required prerequisite courses
- Have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
Prerequisite Courses
Prerequisite courses are required for to ensure students have the necessary foundational skills to be successful in the graduate program and be eligible for certification as a speech-language pathologist through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. In the event a course is taken twice, the admission committee will consider the highest grade earned by the student.
Prerequisite courses directly related to the practice of speech-language pathology must be completed with a ‘B’ (3.0) or better grade. Students must complete the following related courses:
- Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing
- Introduction to Audiology
- Speech and Language Development
- Phonetics
A grade of ‘C’ (2.0) or better is required in related scientific and social science prerequisite areas. Required courses include:
- Physical Sciences (must be a physics or chemistry course)
- Biological Sciences (must be specific to human biology and not specific to speech and hearing)
- Statistics
- Social Sciences (Psychology or Sociology are recommended)

Application
The Master of Speech-Language Pathology Program uses CSDCAS, a centralized application service for students applying to graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Priority application deadline January 15th
- Rolling admissions begin after March 1st; applications will be reviewed within 2-3 weeks.
At this time, there is no supplemental application or any additional application fee beyond CSDCAS fees.
International Students
International students will be required to submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. The MSLP program requires an iBT minimum score of 90 with minimum individual scores of 26 in speaking, 22 in listening, 20 in writing, and 22 in reading. Official scores must be within 2 years of application to the program.
