Whether it is Concert Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, or Rock Band, you can find the right ensemble for you at Mount St. Joseph University!
At the Mount, everyone is welcome regardless of your major or instrument. All ensembles are available to students regardless of your major or experience level! Whether you just have passion for performing or a passion for making music your career, we offer diverse opportunities to grow your musical abilities. If you are only interested in attending games and performing in the Marching or Pep Band, you can meet at our once a week rehearsal and perform at the games.
Interested in a more challenging classical music based performance outlet? Chamber Players might be a better option. Looking to learn improv and play with a Big Band? Jazz Band is happenin’. Or Maybe you just want to perform on an instrument with no weekend commitments. Concert Band has you covered!

This concert features a collaboration with Writers Guild to bring pieces and poems, based on the pathways and directions we all take.
UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER HOLIDAY CONCERT

Join us for a Community Christmas celebration and for the premiere of our Alma Mater "Lion's Heart". We invite community members and Alumni to come together for a performance of Sleigh Ride to bring in the holiday season.
Hot chocolate and community will be shared after the performance!

Mount St. Joseph University Concert Band is celebrating community and the friends we meet along the way, with their final Spring Concert. Featuring the premiere of a work by MSJ Music Major Austin Gray, soloist Dr. Wade Goodwin, and Highlands HS Winter Percussion. Performed in collaboration with the non-profit Sing Me A Story.

Ensembles at the Mount
Pep Band
Rehearses Spring Semester on Wednesdays from 5-7pm and performs at Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Marching Band
Rehearses Fall Semester on Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m and performs at Football Games and select Parades.
Concert Band
Rehearses Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05-4:20 p.m. We perform a mixture of popular and classical repertoire and perform 2-3 concerts each semester.
Jazz Band
Rehearses on Mondays from 5-6:30 p.m. Learn to Improv and perform a wide variety of styles, arranged for the Big Band format.
MSJ Renaissance
Did you know you could get paid to play? You can earn a $500 per semester award through participation in the arts, including any band listed above! You could also receive scholarship for participation in Art Guild, Peak Productions, Theatre, University Singers, or Writer's Block.Facilities
The MSJ Bands have a brand new rehearsal room, located under the University Theatre, and features two performance venues: the 92 seat Recital Hall and the 1050 seat University Theatre. These spaces as well as rehearsal rooms are available for student-artists to practice their craft.
