With a focus on student opportunities, MSJ Theatre Arts offers dynamic and diverse productions of plays, musicals, readings, workshops, classes and more. Our process-based training creates a welcoming environment where all feel a sense of belonging as we work together or create artistic performances. Combining supportive training from professional artists and top-notch productions, Theatre Arts is open to all of the MSJ community.

Theatre Arts Ensemble

Theatre Arts Ensemble meets weekly throughout the semester, offering additional theatre training and opportunities for all of the MSJ community. This is an opportunity to learn more about the audition process, resumes, the business of theatre, and more!

Throughout the year, we enjoy guest artists and workshops to add to the overall theatre experience. Periodically, this group attends theatre productions at local theatres such as Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Ensemble Theatre, the Know Theatre and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.

Classes

Many wonderful theatre topics classes are offered at MSJ including topics from Directing for the Stage, Contemporary Drama, Shakespeare, and an Honors Cincinnati Art Scene course.

Students discover various acting techniques that fuse intellect, imagination, voice, and body. These courses are designed not only for students of the theatre, but also for students interested in public speaking, trial law, media, and education, as well as a broad range of other careers in which confident, fluent, and expressive communication skills are essential.
