Mount St. Joseph staff

Through their presentations to be held on Jan. 24, 2024, these women of the Mount will seek to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in sports management and ownership, challenging stereotypes and creating a more equitable and dynamic sports culture.

“Sports is a male-dominated industry, with eye opening disparities including wage gaps, viewership differences, contrasting sponsorship values, and much more,” says the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. “We want to inspire women in this field and others to push through gender norms and more than ever, break stereotypes.”

According to The Cincinnati Chamber, the objective of women leading and owning sports teams is to foster diversity, equality, and innovation within the sports industry to create a more balanced landscape.

“By breaking traditional gender norms and assuming leadership roles, women bring fresh perspectives, strategic thinking, and a commitment to inclusivity,” it says. “This initiative aims to create a more balanced and representative sports landscape, empowering women to contribute their unique skills and insights to team management, decision-making, and the overall success of sports organizations.”
