Mount St. Joseph University welcomes Peyton McCarthy as the new assistant volleyball coach and student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) advisor.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Mount St. Joseph University and head women's volleyball coach John Spinney are proud to announce that Peyton McCarthy has joined the staff as the new assistant women's volleyball coach and SAAC Advisor.
Peyton comes to the Mount after a successful playing career at Valparaiso University where she was a member of the volleyball team from August 2017-December 2021. During her time at Valpo she was twice named to All Missouri Valley Conference teams, a first-team selection in 2019 and a a second-team selection in 2021. She graduated in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, which she used while managing the social media for the Valparaiso volleyball team. She also spent time working in the ticketing and marketing department where she helped to organize game day giveaways and promotional events for the athletics department.
Her coaching experience include a stop as a head coach in the Kealoha Volleyball Club in Chesterton, Indiana and as a clinic coach at the Northern Kentucky Volleyball Club.
Peyton is a born and raised westsider who was a standout player at Seton High School. Her knowledge of Cincinnati coupled with her coaching and Division I playing career, uniquely qualify her to come in and hit the ground running at the Mount.
