Thanks to the popularity of the Cicada Safari app, Dr. Gene Krtisky is widely-regarded for his cicada mapping. But did you know that Dr. Kritsky is the latest in a long line of entomologists who track cicadas? In a May 26 article in the Washington Post, Dr. Kritsky shines light on Gideon B. Smith, who he calls "the forgotten entomologist."
