Biography:

Professional Bio
Dr. Richard Simon is an Assistant Professor of Sociology, in the Department of Social Work and Sociology. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the Pennsylvania State University in 2011, with a focus on the social and cultural construction of scientific knowledge. Dr. Simon has taught more than a fifteen unique courses in sociology since his first in 2008.

Dr. Simon’s current research primarily focuses on how social and cultural constructions of gender shape experiences of, attitudes toward, and evaluations of science, technology, and medicine.

Personal Bio
In addition to his academic interests, Dr. Simon enjoys writing music, keeping up with current events, and spending time with his three children.
