Biography:
Dr. Jamie Bayliss, PT, DHSc serves as the Director of Clinical Education and is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy program at Mount St. Joseph University. She earned a Bachelor of Rehabilitative Science (2003) and Master of Physical Therapy (2005) from the College of Mount St. Joseph and a Doctor of Health Science degree through the University of Indianapolis (2016). She also is a graduate of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Educational Leadership Fellowship (2018). Her teaching responsibilities within the program at the Mount include the professional issues series, Special Topics, and the temporomandibular function and dysfunction (biomechanics and orthopedics) content. Her research interests include determining trends in student performance that will guide additional program policies, identify students at-risk, offer opportunities for student remediation, and to ensure student readiness for clinical education. She also has a vested interest in Interprofessional Education (IPE).
She serves the clinical community as the co-chair of the Ohio Kentucky Consortium of Physical Therapy Programs. She has been involved in clinical education for nearly 15 years, having served as a credentialed CI (through the APTA) and CCCE prior to her current role in academia. She is an engaged member in the APTA, as well as the Ohio-Kentucky Consortium of Physical Therapy Education, where she served two terms as secretary and currently as co-chair. Dr. Bayliss is a member of the APTA, OPTA, the education and orthopedic sections, the CE special interest group, and the National Consortium of Clinical Educators (NCCE), currently serving in the role of secretary.
