Biography:

Molly McDaniel is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the Wellness Center where she is excited to work with college students to support them throughout their college experience.

Molly has always had an interest in improving educational outcomes.  Prior to entering the field of clinical mental health counseling, Molly worked in academic advising and student success programs that were designed to support students with college adjustment, career decision making and the resolution of complex problems that may interfere with persisting to graduation. While working in these roles Molly wanted to develop skills to address the mental health concerns impacting student’s college adjustment and persistence to graduation.  This prompted Molly to pursue earning her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. 

Following graduation with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Molly worked in a variety of mental health settings including community mental health and school settings where she provided mental health and substance use disorder treatment. As a clinician Molly uses a combination of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness interventions with a focus on incorporating self-care practices to improve overall functioning.

Molly is certified as a trainer for Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) suicide prevention program. 

In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband Brian, supporting local animal rescue efforts, and learning about history and culture by visiting museums and attending cultural events.
