While maintaining regular business hours, starting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 the University will transition to “remote work status” for all faculty and staff—until further notice.

corona virus update

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

In an effort to fulfill the mission of Mount St. Joseph University, support the health and well-being of our students and employees, and meet our civic responsibility to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, starting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 the University will transition to “remote work status” for all faculty and staff—until further notice.

“Keep Learning” remote classes will continue to be delivered remotely for the remainder of the semester. Students should continue to contact the University’s Helpdesk at 513-244-HELP (4357) and use MountRoar! for technical and academic support for remote classes.  Students will continue to have access to learning resources through the Library.  The Wellness Center will provide virtual counseling services to students whenever possible.  All student questions related to the University’s COVID-19 response should be directed to the University’s Helpdesk at 513-244-HELP (4357).

The Seton Residence Hall will remain open until Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. as previously communicated.  Only students that have prior permission from the Dean of Students, Janet Cox, may remain in the Seton Residence Hall after that date.

No faculty or staff members should report to campus after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, unless they are contacted by their manager because they must perform their essential job tasks while physically on campus.  All other faculty and staff are to work remotely.  Employees are asked to, immediately, make needed preparations to work remotely, including removing all items they need from campus by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  If any employee has extenuating circumstances and requires additional time to remove items from campus, please contact the University’s Police Chief, Kevin Koo, at 513-244-4426, to make arrangements for pick-up, if possible.

The University is maintaining normal business hours during this time. Those working remotely are expected to maintain normal business hours.  The Director of the Office of Human Resources, Lisa Kobman, will be sending an email to all University employees as soon as possible with details regarding remote work.

To be clear, Mount St. Joseph University remains open for business during its “remote work status.”  If the State of Ohio or other governmental unit provides further direction for the University’s operations, the University’s leadership will adapt accordingly and provide appropriate notice.

I am grateful for the flexibility, cooperation, and understanding that the entire University community has demonstrated during these unprecedented times.

May God continue to keep us safe and healthy.

H. James Williams
President
